                   A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE TEMPORARY
                   CLOSURE OF VARIOUS STREETS IN THE DOWNTOWN
                   AREA MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED HEREIN
                   BEGINNING AT 6:00 P.M. ON THURSDAY, MAY 9,
                   1991 TO 6:00 P.M. SUNDAY, MAY 12, 1991 FOR
                   THE PRESENTATION OF "ARTSTRAVAGANZA 1991"
                   SPONSORED BY THE CHATTANOOGA DOWNTOWN
                   ALLIANCE UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS.
                  
                  
                                                    
                  
                  
       	    	 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
       CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That there be and is hereby authorized 
the
       temporary closing of Georgia Avenue between M. L. King Boulevard
       and Market Street from 6:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 1991 to 6:00
       p.m. Sunday, May 12, 1991 and the temporary closing of M. L. King 

       Boulevard between Georgia Avenue and Market Street from 6:00 p.m. 

       on Thursday, May 9, 1991 until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, 1991
       for the presentation of "ARTstravaganza 1991" under the
       sponsorship of the Chattanooga Downtown Alliance provided that 
the
       sponsor shall set out and pick up all flasher barricades and
       traffic signs in accordance with the traffic control plan 
attached
       hereto, and shall provide, at all times, an access lane for fire
       and other emergency vehicles.
